Review on Aleta S2C 360 Camera Camcorder Standard Set (Batteries Excluded) + 12V DC Adapter (US Version) by Troy Simpson

Very porous image quality

The only $1000 toy, absolutely not for professional quality or human looking quality. After the latest firmware we see: Pro:. easy to use and compact. The software works quite well on Android 5 Tab and Smartphone. 66 MP looks great "on paper". Disadvantages:. Very bad white balance, my studio is white not yellow and the RGB control doesn't solve the problem. The automatic white balance starts with very strange colors like in this green picture!. Very poor quality, looks like only 1 sensor is used and post processed by a factor of x2 or x3 to get 66MP, lots of artefacts. The angle of the lens is very, very flat, never sharp. All images are in jpg format. Even in raw or organize mode. Organization mode The images are cropped (6 squares) so it is not possible to stitch them with other software to solve stitching problems. Anything under 1 meter will be cut off, even with the software settings and the latest firmware it's impossible to get a full 360° seam. Short or long distances always cause problems. only compressed files, no raw files to fix many issues like white balance. shutter speed 1/4; 1/8 and 1/15 don't change anything. Noisy camera for video mode, but the fan is good. Outwardly, I have not tried Aleta S2C. But for the interior it is very poor to compare. To compare with my 2016 Samsung 360, I preferred my $200 box with low resolution but good color reproduction and native image quality. Take care of youtube video bloggers, try it yourself. Good for a toy, too bad for a pro, I get my 10 batteries back.

Pros
  • 9 axis capability / Excellent low light photography
Cons
  • Will do
