I almost bought these hangers because some reviewers complained that it takes superhuman strength to open the clips. I am writing this review specifically to explain my shock at your complaints. I have already hung 12 skirts on all three hangers, i.e. opened 24 clips. All were easy to open. The ends have grippy rubber so I think with enough heat the clips could possibly stick together a bit in the post but it's over 100 degrees here at the moment and the hangers have been sitting on our porch for half a day so that's not the case. this seems to be a problem. I'm in good physical shape and use my hands to hold bike handles, garden shovels, pans and spatulas for cooking, so maybe I just have better grip strength? I don't know, except that the clamps were so easy to use. My only complaint is that I wish they had added an extra inch of space between the metal bar for the top hanger and the curve of the hanger as it makes it easier to access the hanger rail. This is pretty standard for all tiered hangers I've seen.
