Works well - take care of your functional fibers!

Unlike some others, I didn't buy Hex specifically to remove odors but to cater for the growing supply of quality fabrics in our home. We have a lot more than we thought: lingerie, sportswear, workout clothes and a variety of casual shirts and shorts that have gradually replaced the cotton versions as our favourites. Hex does a good job of keeping new micro and quality fibers in good condition and also does a good job of restoring fibers that have had a history of miswashing. We even use it for wool fabrics. As we have used many microfiber towels for car trim, it is usually best to wash these fibers warm or even hot and dry without heat or on a very low temperature. Microfibers can melt at a microscopic level even with moderate heat, reducing the absorbency of the fibers. Poorly rinsed regular detergent and improper use of fabric softener can also clog the space between the microfibers, which also reduces the microfiber's usefulness. Luckily, the latter is reversible, and Hex can help with that. My previous microfiber cleaning method of adding a quarter cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle and using a mild liquid detergent with no dyes or fragrances still works reasonably well. . But I think the extra odor control and hex conditioners are worth the price. I'm sticking with Hex.
