Big enough to be useful and easy to empty. I keep it on my balcony and after today's storm I can assure you it can withstand marble sized hail (no dents or scratches) and 60+ mph wind gusts. I was expecting to find at least the missing top, but it was exactly as I left it! UPDATE: This ashtray sat in the same spot during two Louisiana hurricane seasons. DID NOT MOVE! Even steady tropical winds or gusts over 60 mph didn't even make it lean. The same winds stripped paint from the shutters and blew the outer cover of the outlet a good 100 feet away. I can't recommend it enough!
