The USB spec limits the USB 2 cable to 25 feet and the USB 3 cable to 15 feet. This cable is designed to increase the maximum USB data transfer possible by using 3 built-in repeaters, each capable of receiving DC power from the included adapter. In theory this *should* work, but in practice it can lead to unexpected behavior. In short, you should expect this cable NOT to work, and you'll be pleasantly surprised when it does, especially on high-power and/or high-bandwidth devices. You should not trust such cables for mission critical applications. We have successfully used this cable to transfer video from a 100ft camera to a Logitech PTZ Pro camera with only one or two interruptions over a 4 hour period. We also had to physically disconnect and reconnect the system once or twice for everything to register itself on our computer. Given the above, I consider this a positive result/outcome **BUT YOU MAY NOT**. For long-term USB use, converting a USB cable to Ethernet and then back to USB is probably more reliable than this extension. This may not work as predictably for devices powered by a USB cable.
