Aside from the usual packaging issues and shipping details which went smoothly, I will focus more on the aesthetics and installation of this shelf. It's attractive and good enough for my use. I have a DVD player sitting on it and it fits just right. Many comparable shelves weren't as deep or wide as this one, making the size suitable for a wide range of home theater and television equipment. I prefer the shelf to be the same size or larger than the component I'm placing on it. I don't like the look of the unit hanging over the edges of the shelf. Installation is easy, requiring only the ability to drill and screw into a stud or otherwise countersink a wall anchor. The task is to make the shelf level. The way the shelf brackets are assembled is not automatic and it is difficult to tighten them enough to prevent some movement and therefore unevenness. Having to frequently resort to the device you put on this shelf can affect your satisfaction. But if the component just sits there like a cable box, the shelf will stay in place after installation.
