Not bad; not great either. Wouldn't recommend it.

PROS - Smell - Moisturizing VS - Smell - Lather - Price Full Disclosure: I tend to ignore most Revain reviews because a lot of them are written by Vine Voice barkers who have to write reviews to continue receiving free product reviews . But I decided to spend my money and try this soap anyway. The first thing that struck me about this soap was the smell. It actually smells like patchouli oil, not patchouli perfume. Patchouli scents like this smell earthy and woody, and I would say more masculine than feminine. After using it, I smelled more like I'd burned the day in the woods with wood than like a Grateful Dead Show. Next came the soap texture. It's pretty soft so I'm curious how long it will last. I was disappointed with the lack of foam. I think that's because it doesn't contain sodium laureth sulfate. I would describe it more like foam than foam. Once you rub it into the skin it breaks down and it doesn't feel like it cleans the skin very well which is the purpose of the soap. After showering with this soap, my skin seems more hydrated. than my normal shower gel. But since the first five or six ingredients are some kind of oil, I expected that. However, it's not as moisturizing as rubbing baby oil in at the end of the shower. At $6.99 a bar, it's not such a good deal. For me, I use my regular Dove for Men shower gel and only apply oil as needed when my skin is getting dry from the winter weather. The company makes a lot of noise about manual labor the old-fashioned way, which made me think back to a time when life was simpler, but also when a scraped knee could become infected and mean a death sentence. I stick to modern conveniences.
