I bought a 0.7mm diameter elastic band without checking how wide the holes in my beads were, but it turned out out as perfect. And you get so much! I won't have to buy it again for a long time. It's stiff enough that you don't need a needle, which is good, and it's very easy to use to make quick stretch bracelets. In just 5 minutes with a few rounds of gemstones you have a finished product. Very easy to cut with scissors. To secure the ends of the bracelet, I tie a few knots and, to be extra careful, apply a dab of glue (several types will do) to the knot, to keep it in place. You should not place machine cut crystals or beads with particularly sharp edges around the holes in this type of cord, as the edges can cut into the cord over time. (Use Accuflex or memory wire instead to make bracelets with this type of bead.) I used this product many years ago and found it to last at least a couple of years, but not forever (worn every day or not ). ). I recognize that this is a trait of all elastic-type elastic cords, and when a particular favorite bracelet is a little dated, I retrace it. Polymers wear out over time, that's their nature. But it should give you a good few years of use before you need to think about it. I find the 0.7mm cord strong enough to hold an entire bracelet of gemstone beads, which are probably the heaviest beads I've ever used. I've also used it to fix cheap off-the-shelf rubber bands that aren't tensioned properly (that happens). Either way, this coil will last me a very long time and this product still appears to be of the same fine workmanship as it was many years ago.
