*Update* Another star deducted. I gave this razor two more shots just to see if it would get any better with practice. Had not. My leg is now cut an inch. :( This is a really painful razor to try. I was running at the speed of a little sloth in a straitjacket and still cut myself. I hate this razor at heart. My husband doesn't even want to use it, so for me it was a waste of money.I have already ordered my regular disposable brands and can't wait for them to arrive tomorrow.Original: I've been shaving my whole body new to shaving for about 15 years. However I'm new to DE safety razors.I have Read reviews and watched video after video.Decided to go for the butterfly opening. For simplicity. This part was great, very simple. And it wouldn't open at all during my 77 minute shave.Yes that's right.Me timed it. And it's a ridiculously long time to shave. I wasn't scared of the razor but wasn't aggr either essiv Worked great in the first two areas and then turned into a machete. I cut a small portion of the O out of my hand without putting any pressure on my skin. It hurt, hell hell! I know a lot of people who say they don't know how others self-harm, and I have to admit I would be one of those people. But no. I shaved nice and easy, but I still cut my arm and both my legs and they hurt like hell. Rschunimagu. Not like a disposable razor. As if a sharp blade had torn my skin, it hurt. Because it happened. Next thing I learned, using shaving cream or conditioner didn't help at all. It really made the shave less smooth. which is strange. Of course I read that you have to use shaving oil or soap. Now I understand why. Shaving foam is ineffective and wasteful on this razor. Water was most effective but uncomfortable. Finally, I have PCOS. As a result, as a woman in my 30s, I grow excessive hair in places I don't want, including my chin and neck. I have to shave my face every day. And the hair that grows on my body is thick like a man's and very coarse. I was hoping this razor could do it and it did. I am very happy with the results on my face/neck/armpits. I'm also seven months pregnant so imagine the effect my hormones are having on my hair right now lol. These are my rough patches of hair. It gave a good, close shave in those areas (for the most part) and I definitely found it better than disposable razors. The problem is that using a damn razor takes 3 times as long because you have to move slowly and do more than one pass. So for me personally it's not worth it. I'd rather spend the money on a disposable tool that can be used three times, can be used quickly, and won't rip apart than going through each strand of hair three times with that single blade and managing to damage the skin. . I'm giving 2 stars because it's definitely a good weight. It opens easily for blade changes and cleaning. It also looks great and works well with facial hair, which I think is great for most men. But I'm taking off 1 star because it's time consuming, 1 star for how painful it can be when kicked, and 1 star because it doesn't work well with the regular shaving cream and conditioner that most women use . I suppose this works well with coconut oil and will probably try this at some point. But for the rest of the body, I'll stick with my disposable Venus. I haven't even tried using this thing in the bikini area because. ek! I could give this razor to my hubs for joy.
