I like that it allows me as admin user (or even non technical person) can create rules with configurable actions such us block traffic or drop packets etc.. It's easy because you don't need any specific knowledge about networking equipment nor programming language in order use all its features which are very powerful when needed! Not so much dislike thing i have found yet :D You should try first if your environment needs some special configuration before deciding whether pure port will work well enough there - maybe other firewall could be better suited? We're using pfSense/FreeBSD OS together wth our own hardware devices connected via 10Gbe interface ethernet ports from Cisco switches we managed through PFsense FW Rules Engine system implemented by PUREPORT product itself since last year now without problems!!
