Before trying this vertical version, I used a flat wireless charger. Although the apartment is more compact, I had a few small issues that this new model solved. It wasn't a problem that when I put my cell phone on the charging station, the connection didn't always come about. Sometimes my phone would rattle and lose its charging connection. I had to be very careful to place it correctly and wait for the green light to know it would charge properly. With this charger, my phone is always positioned perfectly and securely in the right position, so I never wake up the next morning to find my phone is not charged. The second issue I had with the flat charger was that I couldn't easily see the time without removing my phone from the charger. Again, this vertical charger makes it easy to quickly check the time without breaking the charging connection. My only downside is that the cable that comes with it is a bit shorter than I would like.
