Review on 🎧 ATH-M50 Professional Headphones by Audio Technica by Adam Allard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent audiophile quality headphones, only one downside. sound leaks!

Overall I really liked these headphones so here are a few things to note: PROS: - Excellent build quality (materials used seem to be of high quality) - Excellent low end and mids and highs - Really good bass - Wide soundstage - Clear sound, not distorted - Pretty comfortable for 3-6 hours of continuous use - Amazing price CONS: - Loss of sound (to be honest I expected more isolation, but when I use it at 70% volume, everyone within 4ft of me knows exactly what I'm hearing) - They get warm after a few hours of use - The earcups aren't very deep, so my ears touched the thinly padded driver I have to say that these headphones are a great buy and most people will have no problems with them. However, if you're concerned about not disturbing others with your music, I'd suggest you look elsewhere (if you don't mind listening to music at 40% volume). I have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 770's and they isolate the sound. pretty good, so keep that in mind. They get pretty hot after 6+ hours of continuous use, but it's not unbearable or anything. he is just present. I would also recommend buying an external amplifier, especially if your source is an iPod/MP3/iPhone. The FIIO E6 is only around $30 and it really makes a difference. I've also had a lot of people ask me if they should get these ATH or Beats from Dre so I want to be clear that they are professional quality. headphones, and that their focus is on sound quality. Then again, the Beats are a fad, a "fashion" mainstream device, and they sound even worse than my ATH M30s, which cost me around $50. If you want to look cool, go for Beats, but if you really care about sound quality, go for Audio Technicas. .org and check out reviews on YouTube.

Pros
  • The closed-back earcup design creates a superior seal for maximum isolation
Cons
  • Annoying
