The overall design is great but the mesh filter that holds the coffee is too small for the amount of water available. The coffee is too weak, especially considering it's usually served with ice. But even without ice, it is too thin and weak. I let it steep for 24 hours as the instructions suggested. But here's the problem: the mesh is very thin, almost like a fabric. I'm not sure if coffee can't also leach or what. If you fill the entire filter with coffee grounds, you must also fill the jug with water to the brim, otherwise only half of the coffee in the filter will get wet. You won't believe you can fill a coffee filter and then add just half the water for a stronger drink. You only brew half the coffee grounds. Here's what I did: I just pulled out the filter and poured the grounds straight into the water pitcher so I could get a better coffee to water ratio. . Then I screwed the lid back on. Now, every time I want a glass of iced coffee, all I have to do is use a small hand-held strainer and hold it over my mug while I pour the coffee into my mug. This is actually a very simple fix, and you can control the strength of the drink much more easily. But all of this is to say that you don't need to shell out money for a fancy filter jug. You can use a glass jar or any old glass jar (not plastic) and just cover it if it doesn't have a lid. There's no point in wasting money on this pot with a filter that doesn't work anyway (unless you're Canadian. You drink the world's weakest coffee. Your coffee looks like tea. So this pot will suit you .)
