I didn't buy this for travel purposes, but to use as a my primary jewelry box. I purged 2 older jewelry boxes and was able to consolidate all of it into this one. The necklace holders are secure. There is plenty of space for earring (can use the ring holders for earrings as well), and the second layer is great for more earrings, chunkier necklaces, bracelets, etc. I really appreciate the simplicity of this box. Looks great on my dresser. Easy to open/close.
