Review on Logitech Wireless Trackball M570 Renewed by Stanislaw Banasiuk ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

In general, it's pretty good, an equal number of pros and cons.

Considering the high price for the Logitech M570 manipulator itself, I advise you, readers, the following: 1. Please keep the trackball box and receipt, as you are highly likely to incur a trackball due to a malfunction of the keys to the store under warranty for its replacement. 2. The USB radio receiver from this trackball should never be hot-switched; connect it only to a switched off computer. Otherwise, after a little less than a hundred switchings, the receiver will fail. As for operation: periodically, once or twice every two weeks, you will have to clean three radially arranged contact balls. The procedure is very simple - push the trackball ball with your finger through a special hole in the bottom and scrape off the dirt from the contact balls. The procedure, of course, is not aesthetic, but the point here is not in dirty hands, but in human nature - dead cells of the skin are constantly falling off. I use a Duracell battery for the trackball, it lasted me about six months of use in each of the trackballs, i. E. its power consumption is low. As for the quality of the plastic, the sound of the keys, the operation of the wheel, they completely suit me. If there were high-quality mics in the trackball, I would give it a rating of "five", and so only "three".

Pros
  • Extremely comfortable trackball for my hand (medium size). It took me about 2-5 minutes to get used to it. It can be used in any applications except for shooters and games that require an instant reaction of the player. Nevertheless, I want to note that you can get used to it so much that, for example, you can comfortably play Skyrim and even Chevalry. The first impression of the trackball is a delight, because the hand does not experience tension when using it, the sensations in operation are completely natural and comfortable. As I understand it, the use of this trackball eliminates the formation of carpal tunnel syndrome even without a pad (if you use a mouse at work, be sure to buy yourself a helium pad). In addition, this trackball is good as a right thumb muscle trainer in the postoperative period.
Cons
  • A huge and, in my opinion, the only drawback of this trackball is the quality of the mics on the keys. A malfunction of the left trackball button occurs after six months or a year of operation. Bought four trackballs - one for home use, one for work, one spare and one as a gift. In the first two of them, six months later, the key began to "stick" (it works instead of one pressing as a double one with a probability of 30-40%). For reference: on the Internet there is a diagram of an independent solution to this problem, but I could not successfully repair it, because the latch of the mikrik cover broke off when it was opened. Due to the design features, the trackball may not be suitable for people with a small hand.
