I bought an optical audio cable to use with a Samsung 4K TV, Roku Ultra (4K) and an old Denon stereo receiver that doesn't 4K supports. The 4K display setup required an HDMI 2.2 cable from Roku Ultra to a Samsung 4K TV. Then an optical audio cable from the TV to the Denon stereo receiver. 4K video and audio are perfectly synchronized for high quality performance. A NOTICE. This setup does not allow the user to use your TV's speakers, and you must always turn on your stereo receiver for sound. You need to go to your TV settings and select Optical Audio option. If your stereo has an on-screen display, you will need to connect an additional HDMI cable from the receiver to your TV, as the optical audio cable is for audio only. OPTIONAL: If you use or want to use Dolby Atmos or DTS X, the latest surround sound formats, you need an HDMI cable and a newer stereo receiver that can use these formats.
