Removing the speakers (by gently compressing the latches) and placing, say, a cotton pad in a cup where the speaker was standing, will improve the bass response. Restore the original order of things. The bass level will go raised. Benefits include: Very lightweight and barely perceptible, but they do not give way to even the sharpest head motions. For its price range, the audio quality is satisfactory (the manufacturer honestly declares a frequency range of 80-18000 Hz, this is what you should be guided by). Don't count on a bass response worthy of studio headphones. Ill effects: Maybe it's just the wire, and because it was folded in the box to begin with, it should untwist itself with time. As a result, maybe this hassle will lessen. Again, I'm concerned about the wire's connection to the earcup. Without proper protection (often a corrugated rubber tube), the wire may break during subsequent operations after entering it.
