This eye patch is soft and I love the double elastic on one side for a better fit. However, it fits very snugly on the eye and is not held in a cup shape like a stiffer eye patch, which can cause irritation after wearing it for several hours. You cannot open your eye in the patch as it is pressed against your eyelid all the time. And in the lower part near the nose, it lets light through. So I think it may not be the best bandage to wear for hours when treating amblyopia as stated in the title and description. Cloth to this spot to block this streak of light. The rest of the eye patch blocks the light really well and I'll see how comfortable it is to wear. If my child is upset about how close they are getting, I will reconsider my rating. I cannot return the patch as I sewed additional fabric on it. (By the way, I figured I'd need this. So far, I haven't found a patch that fits perfectly and blocks all light without modification on the first try.)
