Review on SPEEX 77mm Lens Cap for Canon E-77 II Black: Enhanced Replacement Option by Maurice Branch

In my opinion this slim lens cap is a steal compared to the official Canon cap which is now almost double the price. I mean, it's just a small piece of plastic that's inexpensive to make. Some obviously received the product without the wording, but mine came as pictured (otherwise I'd be upset)! I can't comment on the quality of the gray - and yes, light gray, not white - printing on the cap, but even if it wears off, the cap will still say "Canon" (and the official cap is still complete black , including the logo). If there's one complaint I have it's the quality of the string. It's just a piece of rope (probably nylon) with no loops on the end, so as you can see in the picture I used my old one. Loops are more convenient as you don't have to tie anything in a knot to attach it to your camera or cap. With the piece of string they send you have to tie both ends (one on the lid and the other on the chamber) so it cannot be reused unless you are very patient in untying the tiny illegible knots. It's easier to just cut them off and buy another string. In general I am satisfied. I put a 67mm black and white UV haze filter (also purchased from Revain) on the camera and wanted to cap it. This fits into the filter thread and sits securely. It doesn't appear until I take it off and looks fine on my Canon G3 X.
