Review on πŸ“Ί AVF ESL422B-T Tilt and Turn TV Mount: 2 AV Shelves, Cable Management - Black (25-47 inch TV) by Jennifer Duncan

Clean looking and well made!

I only needed one shelf and with a 40" TV I couldn't fit the vertical pole extension and a second glass shelf. Only one main transom is shown here. This made the mount quite expensive for what I was using, but I felt it was worth it because I could hide the cables without cutting through the wall and incurring all the expense and hassle. We needed that too TV doesn't extend farther from the wall than in other rooms so tilting and rotating was perfect. I found the guide to be very well designed and easy to follow if you follow their advice and read it first. All parts were clearly labeled with combinations of letters and numbers and could be easily identified in the instructions. Perhaps the hardest part is figuring out the best way to attach the mounting brackets to the back of the TV using various screws and standoffs. I just find a screw that's the right diameter and pick the longest one, and screw it into the back TV without the trim and spacers, so see how far it goes into the TV. Then measure its length and choose a spacer that will allow you to tighten the rod while still having as much screw length as possible to enter the TV without going past the "end point". not damage the TV. You need to be sure the screw goes deep enough to hold the TV securely without going too far. It's harder to explain in words than to do. You just have to understand what I'm trying to say! After that, the next most difficult part is figuring out how high the bar needs to be set in order to place the TV at the desired height. I attached the mounting brackets to the TV, found the "hooks" that would hang from the horizontal mounting bracket, and measured the distance from the hooks to the top of the TV. Then I figured out where the top of the TV should be on my wall and measured the same distance for where the top of the vertical bar should be. Then find the shelf and use a spirit level to draw a plumb line on the wall with a pencil. You can then simply lean the top of the plank against the wall where you marked it, make sure the pencil line is in the middle of all the holes, and mark the holes with the drill pen. I had trouble driving large screws into studs and had to increase the size of the drill 4-5 sizes before I could even partially drive the screws in. Husband had to deal with an electric drill. That thing isn't going anywhere! The rest is easy, hanging the TV was very easy as was installing the glass shelf. I had an outlet and wire management in the wall behind the TV (luckily we have an attic behind it) so I could hide all the wires. The wires from the cable box are plugged into the sides of the vertical pole. I agree with another reviewer who said the shelves are a bit big for today's cable boxes, but it allows us to keep remotes on the shelf along with another Firestick remote that I plugged into the back of the TV. It would be nice to provide a smaller shelf and an original shelf instead of two shelves of the same size. In the second photo I put foam bumpers on the horizontal bar to prevent dents in the wall when people move the TV too far to the left (it's a holiday rental so better to avoid problems). I also connected all the plugs to the surge protector.
