This rating is based on the fact that they are only used for surround sound (ATMOS front speakers in particular). I get a definite improvement with atmospheric blur over the previous one. My system is a 5.1.2 system where I used a Level 3 HTD for the fronts and an Infinity primus p163 for 2 rears, a Rythmik LV12R for the sub and a couple of OWM3s as 5.1.(2) ATMOS. The speakers were slightly tilted on my speakers so the sound more or less bounced off my roof in front of my ears. I had 0 expectations before setting it up simply because these aren't Atmos speakers and the installation was impromptu at best. I set the crossovers to 200Hz, which allows my better, more expensive front end to do most of the hard work and just push through atmospheric sounds. They work well and I'm sure it would sound even better if my receiver allowed for 2 more surround back speakers, but that's my limit and I'm happy with my position.
