Unable to wear itchy high collar apron

This is the most uncomfortable apron I have ever worn. The description of the fabric is "cotton linen" but feels like a crepe fabric, some sort of polyester blend. It has a crispy crust reminiscent of corn husks. The next problem is cutting. The apron is very high-necked when it's on, and the neckline rubs against the soft skin of my throat like a seat belt is slitting my throat in the most uncomfortable way. I tried to create some sort of imitation feature so the rough fabric wouldn't irritate the neck, but it was pretty damn tight and weird. The length and pockets are exactly as pictured and the color I chose was navy blue. I was hoping to have no complaints this quarter. But I just can't wear this apron and I think I need to afford and buy a real linen style apron from The Vermont Apron Company.
