This is a simple and sturdy design that will ONLY work well if your drawer sides are at least 5/8 inch lower than the drawer opening. No drawer in our house closes when it's a latch because the latch sticks out too far to bend. The plastic is too hard and the angle at which it meets the drawer frame is too steep. However, if the side of the drawer is 5/8" below the drawer's opening, they should work fine. If the drawer sides are only slightly LOWER than 5/8" below the drawer opening, you will need to add an additional side latch to the inside of the drawer frame opening and that should work as well. I don't see at all how they would work on a closet.
