If you are looking for softness and protection, this product is for you. We use it as a spacer between the ACE bandage and the calf compression device. All the others we tried were thin, loose and very scratchy for sensitive skin. This product is much thicker and very soft. We can wash and reuse parts. Note that when this product is placed in the dryer it will shrink in length but not in girth. It's not a big problem. We washed and dried the entire roll before cutting it into more pieces. That's exactly what we needed.
