I have been using this filter for 6 months and when I changed it I decided to disassemble the used one and have a look inside. It appears to include multi-level materials and screens as advertised. I found no scum, scale or other *visible* signs of contamination being removed from my water. I have noticed my hair no longer feels as dry/frizzy and my skin is no longer as dry, irritated or red as it was before using the filter 6 months ago. I will continue to use it - I originally bought this to help with flare-ups of rosacea on my face and so far the combination of the water filter and Soolantra topical cream seems to have eliminated my rosacea completely.
