Review on Impressive IOGEAR Compact USB-C Docking Station with PD Pass-Thru - GUD3C03: Ultimate Connectivity Hub by Bobby Plymell

I like this product as a complete solution for USB-C laptops, but wouldn't recommend it as a replacement for a powerful desktop dock. Think of it as a mobile option. I was able to get a 60W USB-C PD box to work with it, but it doesn't deliver enough power to charge a laptop (Surface Book 2). The dock consumes 15 watts. I found that the order in which things are presented is important for this to work well. That means the video out might not work unless you plug in the docking station and then the monitor. It took a few tries to figure this out and at first I thought I had a faulty dock. I did not contact tech support before discovering this myself. Otherwise, it's nice to have everything in one package. The only other annoyance is the short connection cable that comes with the device. I have an extension that helps with this, but it doesn't seem to work for video if you plan on using monitors. It would be nice if the cable was detachable for replacement and longer cables. You won't find another adapter with so many options at this price point.
