I also have a Zagg Slim Book Keyboard case for my iPad Pro 12.9 for comparison. I use my iPads as tablets 75% or more, but I also wanted a decent keyboard since it's almost replacing laptops. The Slim Book is a really good keyboard in a good/bad case. It's cheap plastic. Slippery in the hand and very fragile. At the time it was the best case I could find, with "tablet mode" and "laptop mode" without putting it in and out of the case. When I upgraded to 10.5", I was hoping there was something better. I really like the Apple Smart Keyboard idea, but if you're adding a case, look for a basic, non-backlit, flexible keyboard for $200. And you still have no place to put your pencil. This case is perfect. Feels and looks like a regular iPad case in tablet mode. Flexible rubberized corners, comfortable to hold in hand. Solid pencil slot. It's easy to switch to keyboard mode, just place it in the middle of the keyboard case. Yes, it's quite thick when everything is clamped down, which is a compromise, but I agree if it means I have a solid backlit keyboard. Typing this review on the keyboard, sitting on your knees, leaning back in a chair. Ideal.
