Review on ⌚ Women's Timex Expedition Metal Field Mini Watch by Robin Detwiler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A tiny 20mm dial in a 26mm case!

5 stars so far. It's been a few months and I'm still hooked. Other people have said all there is to say about this watch, so I'll just add that the brown version doesn't have the extra 24-hour digits behind the standard 12-hour digits, so it's a cleaner, simpler one Face. what i prefer. There's also no date, which is great. I thought the dial itself would be 26mm in diameter, but it turns out the entire case is 26mm and the dial itself is 20mm, which again is exactly what I would wish for more. So I'm lucky! But for some it may be too small. The supplied strap is not as good as in the picture, the natural color is not as bright and a bit dirty cream. But it's still normal. I personally will replace the straps with something better. What matters to me is the dial itself. Indiglo works surprisingly well. The numerals do not glow, but the hands glow when exposed to sufficient sunlight. All in all I am very satisfied with this purchase. the watch is great. But then I noticed that the indigo had moved up a bit, that the lower part of the dial wasn't illuminated. (See closeup photo). Then I also noticed that my partner's Timex has the same issue and it's a high end chronograph model so I'm not sure if it's just our watch or if it's a Timexesque issue. Also, the ticking is a bit loud. Not as loud as my old Swatch, but quite noticeable at times. I hear a ticking while driving, waiting for a green light, hands on the wheel, no sound. Faint, but once you hear it, you can't make it out. However, you are happy.
