I first bought these for my daughter when she started wearing Tball under her white baseball pants and they work great! She wears them over her underwear and there are no bright colors or visible patterns underneath, just what I was looking for. She had to get used to the top first, she itched a bit at first, but after the first or second time it didn't bother her at all. I think the top looks nice on what's underneath. The quality is excellent, they are soft and sewn well. The tip didn't even snap on my active girl! Now she wears them under dresses all the time and I love that she can wear any outfit of her choice and still act like a kid without accidentally showing her underwear to others. The quality is wonderful, they are really durable yet soft and comfortable. At first I thought it was expensive, but when I really started comparing purchases, most cycling shorts - if you buy three - are actually more expensive. So you can get three amazing quality shorts longer than any other shorts I could find for the price of the usual cheap itchy shorts. You really can't go wrong with this purchase. I can even get more colors for other options. My daughter does not have a uniform but if she did I think it would be necessary. My 5 year old is about 50lbs 43" usually wears 6x but I ordered 7/8 and they fit great. They're not too tight around your legs (but typical cycling shorts are) and are slightly longer, exposing just above the knee. She will grow into them and be able to wear them a little longer which would be awesome!
