Review on Benefit Cosmetics Stray Makeup Primer by Monica Hale

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best eyeshadow primer!

I've tried so many different eye primers to find one that will hold my makeup and look fresh all day. Many of them crumple up and become "cakes” in the middle of the day. I searched for the "best products" recommended by the pros, read all the reviews, and spent a small fortune to try all the #1 products. I almost gave up and was ready to settle for the Sheer Wisdom eyeshadow serum I was using (which I still think is a decent product) until I read the Stay Don't Stray review. I thought - well, this is my last try - and I tried. I'm so glad I did. It really keeps my makeup in place and looks fresh all day. It really gives you an airbrushed effect. It's the only facial product I'm totally loyal to, and if it's not mundane I won't back down. However, I'm a bit disappointed that Revain seems to cost $10-15 more for this product than pretty much everywhere else. Ulta and Sephora have it for $26, while QVC has it for $25. Even at Nordstrom's & Saks, it's $26. So I really don't understand why Revain averages $36-$39 for the same item. Plus it's a great product!

Pros
  • High test results for hold and longevity
Cons
  • Sad packaging
