Great thickness, not sticky or anything. It emulsifies very quickly in my hands and the scent is very clean and not overpowering. The smell is mainly tea tree oil, but as I said, it just smells clean and not overpowering. Goes on easily on the head and maintains moisture to prevent scalp flaking (a problem I've had in the past). Overall I will continue to purchase this product until someone else makes a better balm, but until then this is my choice.
