Review on πŸ” SVBONY 1.25 Inch Telescope Barlow Lens - Enhanced 5X Optical Zoom for Stellar Telescope Astronomy by Tres Carmon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This isn't the 5X Barlow you're looking for.

I was scammed because of the low price and just starting out, it works like a barlow lens and has some nice features like filter thread, good fit and finish but not up to 5x level, z what he claims. I believe this is more of a 3x barlow than the advertised 5x barlow. (SVBONY 1.25" 5x Barlow lens fully dimmed) So first I have the cheap 3x Barlow lens that came with my telescope. With a good 25mm eyepiece and the 3x Barlow magnification that I have, the focal length of the eyepiece is the same as an 8.33mm eyepiece, you get some chromatic aberrations at night with this setting, but you get a decent image (the fuzzy multicolored halo you get around what you're zooming in on). With the svbony 5x Barlow and the same 25mm eyepiece, the focal length of the eyepiece should be 5mm. Eyepiece. With this setting you get some chromatic aberration at night (the fuzzy multicolored halo you get around anything you've zoomed in on). The The maximum usable eyepiece of my telescope is 2.3mm. Which one has the best zoom? Surprisingly, there was almost no difference between 5x and 3x with the same 25mm eyepiece. To check, when I used the 7mm non-Barlow eyepiece used, it had a higher magnification level. What kind of ?! Barlow's 5x magnification with the 25mm lens was supposed to be 5mm more than my 7mm lens, but it didn't. It's actually closer to 8mm, which I'm pretty sure of (25/3 = 8.33mm). So lesson here, if you want a cheap but decent 3x Barlow, get this one. If you want a 5x barlow, this isn't it.
