I'll confess that it took me about a week of daily wear to get used to the hard plastic vents in the sole. As it softened, it became an effective arch support. This is the only real complaint against them. They look fantastic with wraparound slats, shoe tread and opaque lateral support. These shoes are incredibly breathable and I have to change them now because it's getting colder outside and it's going to snow soon. But I've had them for 6 months and they've held up very well. The boots are worn but the stitching is still intact. The fit is very snug, like your foot is lulled to sleep. It's like a sock but definitely durable, you know you're wearing shoes. Also, they are different from other shoes I've had because they don't have a tongue. Eyelets and laces only. I didn't miss the language. This makes quick on and off very easy as there is no need to fiddle with your tongue. The part of the back above the heel cup, where most shoes fold, is soft and thick. Like 4 pairs of soft and thick socks. They won't bruise or hurt when they rub against your ankle. I have to recommend them to anyone who is on their feet most of the day and needs breathable shoes. The Ortholite insert is perforated and has a vent at the bottom so you can feel the outside air under your feet. If you are looking for warm climate shoes at a good price, this is your best option.
