I'm not a big fan of writing reviews but I am a big review reader. Considering what others have said about their mouse flying off this mousepad, as well as a few reviewers who used duct tape and duct tape, I went with a hot glue ring. Mainly for aesthetics. Well, while it might not be the cleanest ring of glue :) it certainly does the job and keeps my mouse from jumping off the couch. I needed something that would allow my arm to be at a higher level with the armrest and a raised beanbag is what suits me. To be honest I don't feel like I need a glue ring because my surface is more stationary than a bed, but I just left it there to possibly hit a mouse and make it fly. However, the surface is not smooth and I have a small hook on the bottom of the mouse, so while it's very smooth, it's not slippery. If it makes sense
