I recently received an r2880 in perfect condition from a neighbor for free. Seems like a good deal until you need some ink. I think with 8 cartridges I buy ink for this thing every week. I wouldn't mind, but after a thorough study of Epson ink cartridges and tech gadgets that force you to buy more ink, it's pretty awful. In terms of cost, I'm certainly better off ordering prints from Walgreens, which is what I usually do. Cartridges only hold about 14ml of ink while there is about twice as much room in a cartridge and the system that Epson uses to tell you when it's empty, well there's often quite a bit left in a cartridge, if you are forced to throw it away. Outside. Tired, I ordered replacement ink and cartridges from Conecolor. The cost is about 1/5 or less of what Epson offers and the ink works great. It's embarrassing. I think if Epson gave people more ink for their money, people would print a lot more, buy more Epson paper and printers, enjoy their printers more, and be happy to give Epson money.
