Review on πŸ”Œ ETL Certified Surge Protector Power Strip - 24 Outlets, Long 15-Foot Heavy Duty Metal Power Strip with Extension Cord by Mark Bennett

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Weak metal cover, weak power button.

I'm thinking about returning this extension. The reasons are as follows. 1) The metal case is very thin for my taste. I bought it for my desktop, not my AV rack. For an AV component that is plugged in once and almost never used again, this block may be appropriate. But on multiple pluggings I see that the connectors aren't really of high durability/quality like other power strips currently owned and used. 2) The power switch is small and the stroke is 1/8 to 3/16. Inch, ie almost nothing. The indicator light is very weak and almost too dark. I'm comparing this to the power strips I currently have which are in an enclosure you can literally stand/step on without hurting yourself and to the power strips I've been using for the past 10 years. without question. Perhaps this comparison is wrong, because "they don't do it the way they used to." However, the material used in this expansion is very thin and I can literally push it in with my index fingers. The ports, power button, and unit don't have a built-in breaker or surge protector (I knew about this at the time of purchase, but since I was going to use it to run chargers and power tools, I didn't mind). Do not recommend this device for anything other than a simple "set and forget" installation. I will use the device for a few more days and decide whether to return the product or not. So far I'm not very happy with the build quality of this device.

Pros
  • Easy Installation: To install, simply slide the extension base over the mounting heads and then pull the extension down (or up) to 'lock' it in place.
Cons
