I like that it's on a human level and if you're looking for an honest alternative it has a similar consistency. It thickens instantly and reminds me of instant potatoes. I didn't like that it's not sealed, the packaging is just twisted. It also contains a large amount of starch. My dog started eating it right away but only ate about half of the 1 cup serving (before adding water). He's an 80-pound bully and can usually eat a lot more. To be honest, he usually prefers dry food, but I try to diversify his diet and offer alternatives. I'll probably use it mixed with granules or as a topper. I don't think I would buy it again, my dog seems to prefer the food. Got the option of not adding water to love an easy meal project. This depends on your pup and their individual nutritional needs.
