The base of the keyboard is heavy gauge steel which is both beautiful and keeps the keyboard in place. The backlight is appealing and the mouse fits. I didn't buy the keyboard for gaming, but for the aesthetics. Keyboard size (vertical) is about 1/2 to 1 inch larger than average. This makes me uncomfortable reaching for the number keys (but I think I'll get used to it), but reaching for the F1-F12 keys is a real effort. The main keys are also raised, making the F-keys even more difficult to access as you have to raise your hand instead of stretching out your fingers. This can be a problem for fast typists or gamers, since you have to take your hand off the primary keys. A special font is used for the keys, which looks pretty ugly. It looks inconsistent and lets you look closely at the keyboard. There are also inconsistencies with the backlight: the main keys are better illuminated than the number and F keys, which I don't consider to be intentional. The LED is not bright enough to illuminate all keys 100%, so the keys appear dark in many areas. Other than that, I'm happy with my purchase.
