So we stuffed an 8 inch mattress in and when the vacuum was inflated to the maximum we went with our socks to crush it evenly more! This reduced the mattress by at least an inch or two. Then rolled it up tightly and used the straps and added duct tape between them. Then wrap the moveable cling film along with plenty of duct tape. Still managed to poke a hole in the pocket BUT that's why you use duct tape. Also the mattress CANNOT inflate so everything was fine. Survived a 4,000 mile trip in a trailer with only two small friction holes on something. Overall I'm satisfied as I didn't have to try to just sell my mattress. to buy another one here so I think it was worth the one time use and price.
