I used to buy expensive blankets when they were on sale and they were always traditional in cut and color. They were beautiful but a bit boring, and they always had a sort of blue that I liked best. Then last summer I found a completely different favorite blanket – big orange and yellow flowers with a black pattern – and my husband thought I was having an "age crisis” because it wasn't blue and that was unusual for me. . I bought it just a few days before I turned seventy. Then this fall, because I love quilts and always have one for summer and one for winter, I looked everywhere for a quilt that I really like. The first thing I ordered from Revain was too light so I decided to focus on my favorite blue and found this comforter. It's really neat! There's navy blue, light blue, teal, medium blue (something like light blue as a background) with splashes of white and golden orange as a contrasting color for the center of the white daisies and to accentuate the swirls. All these models are made in horizontal stripes. I think it's bohemian but I've never had a taste like this before, or maybe now that I'm seventy I'll finally let it show me off! I love that the two pillows, which are difficult to slip over a plus size pillow but fit great, are the same design as the quilts but are different from each other! I wonder how well this duvet will wash, but duvets are the only thing I buy that I don't immediately wash. We don't sleep under it. I always fold them over my feet and we sleep under a sheet and blanket. The same goes for fakes: we don't sleep on them. I've read the reviews and they all said they wash well so I'll know when it's time to switch to my summer duvet because I always pack it away clean. I highly recommend this blanket! Interestingly, our bedroom is still a soothing place, but it's bright, so not as "sleepy" as it has been for the past thirty years! I thought about some of the old quilts we had and some were lighter, but since we had more money to spend I kind of started buying really quiet quilts! Don't fall into this trap! This blanket looks great! It makes you happy!
