I bought a pink box for my little daughter. For verification purposes, I've used my own products to show what you can realistically install. 🔑 LOCK 🔐 She wanted something that locks to keep her little sister from using it. It locks, but the locking mechanism is in the part where you lift the latch. It is not located where the hole for the box is. I hope that makes sense. So I believe that if someone pulls on the latch with some force when it's locked, it can break. Worth mentioning if you are looking for something super secure. That's enough for my daughter's needs. You can hear it being locked and unlocked so it works fine. And my daughter has no problem making it on her own. It's only 5,📐 DIMENSIONS 📐 Three tier shelves measuring 6"x6"x1". I've included photos to show the dimensions. The brush box can hold objects up to 8" tall with little wiggle room The lower/deeper compartment (when using with a brush box) gives you enough space for items sized up to: 7"L x 6.5"W x 3 1/4"H. If you are using it without the brush box, it measures 7"L x 9.5"W x 3 1/4"W. A small gap to the left of the brush. Into a 2 1/4"L x 3, 5" WI box fit a bottle of nail polish remover. Or you could just fit a makeup remover bottle.❓ WHAT YOU CAN FIT❓ This isn't a huge makeup box. I'd say you get the basic stuff On the top shelf I drew a full size bottle of my Urban Decay Naked Foundation, Urban Decay Full Size Primer (I just bought a travel size primer but decided to use the include full-size primers in the assessment). , travel spray is tiny) and UD travel fixative spray. Instead of a blush palette, I applied a julep blush stick (it's just gorgeous, by the way, I'll never go back to powder blush). And my Urban Decay concealer. I have some space left on the top shelf and plan on putting my NARS mini travel bronzer there. On the second shelf I drew a picture of my Maybelline matte lip ink to show that you can fit quite a few long tubes into a glossy style. I also wear lip balm and my little perfume. In fact, I'll probably fill the entire shelf with mascara and gloss. You can't customize full size eyeshadow palettes, but it will do for your smaller base palettes. Personally, I will use eyeliner when I travel. They're more compact, quicker and easier to apply, and there's no risk of the powders breaking and getting tangled. I recently tried the Elf No Budge Shadow Stick and was impressed with the price, how easy it applies, feels light and doesn't move after application. I'll probably take some more flowers and give the third layer to the eyeshadow pencils. 🧱 WEIGHT 🧱 Quite heavy. My daughter can still take it and take it to anywhere she wants to do makeup. But I can see it being cumbersome if you use it as carry-on luggage for air travel. Despite the weight, I really liked it and decided to buy it for my travels. I won't be using it on any plane as it's too heavy for hand luggage and I already have four kids with me, but I really like it for road trips and weekend trips where I can win. You don't have to worry about carrying it around too much. It looks solid and I'm not worried about bumping it. The fact that it's lockable keeps nosy, long-fingered family members out of the box. 🖍 COLOR 🖍 Matches the product images on the web. My daughter loved pink. I'll take rose gold. Stay tuned for this review as I show off the rest of my products and how they fit. Watch. You can close the drawers and leave the mirror open to bring it closer to you. You can also add a small magnifying glass to zoom in and do precise work. I place my magnifying mirror on the empty side of the box where there are no trays. And it was the perfect solution for applying makeup without the help of your hands. I can then stow the mirror in the lower compartment when not in use. ❌ CONS ❌ It may or may not make a huge difference to you but when the 3 tier shelves are FULLY extended the cosmetic bag will tip over unless you are on the bottom shelf there shouldn't be anything heavy. If you don't happen to put anything heavy on the floor, you can still keep the box from tipping over until you've pulled the shelves all the way out and you still have access to the items on each shelf. . 🧰 Overall 🧰 Seems pretty strong. It comes with internal plastic inserts for easy cleaning. Too early to know if it will last. I will report this later. I am very happy with this purchase.
