I have a Pontiac Fiero show car but it's already converted so I don't mind making sensible changes. The cigarette lighter is one of those accessories that no longer makes sense, and most people have USB adapters plugged into it. However, adapters don't always work well as they need to make good contact in the socket, which sometimes requires some twisting and turning. And most have 1 USB port rated at 1.1A. Unfortunately 1.1A works fine for mobile phones but tablets need more. This socket has 2 USB ports of 2.1A each, which is enough for this tablet. First I got the backlit version but the light is not controlled separately. My cigarette lighter power is on all the time so I bought this one that is off. Once installed, it looks like a "factory original" and works great!
