Great headset, sometimes tricky on PS4. ATTENTION: Photo after a year of use.

First of all it was delivered on Sunday and my days off are Monday and Tuesday so thanks guys I got to enjoy it for two full days. Now that I first got them, I connected them to my PS4. since i mainly play on the console, i noticed that the sound is very quiet. Disgustingly low. Someone speaking at a normal volume can easily overcome the sound of this half-open headset, and adjusting the volume knob did nothing. So I pulled out my gaming laptop and plugged it into a direct USB-C connection and the sound was amazing, but more on that later. headset (although I doubt it has anything to do with it) and went back to my PS4. Plugged it back in when it was off. Nevertheless, very very low volume. I was a bit nervous about my purchase so I tried the simplest. Disconnected and reconnected and voila! The volume was on and the volume wheel worked too. Now for the sound quality. I would say it's really good. Crisp and crisp highs, nice resonant mids, bass is there but not overwhelming. So I would say it's a slightly colder/more accurate sound profile, so NOT FOR BUSHEADS. Their semi-open back means you get great sound placement. In Apex Legends, I would often hear enemies' footsteps long before I saw them or they saw me, and I could aim where they were coming from. Plus, this semi-open design also lets you hear yourself, so you don't speak louder than usual. In terms of fit and finish, they're really good. Nothing creaks or creaks, they look amazing, especially with this RGB. Really comfortable as I've been playing with it for several hours and haven't had any issues and my ears haven't overheated. The only thing I wish would have been different is the headband padding. It's comfortable but a bit flimsy and I can see it's the first place it wears. Hence TL; Disconnect DR and reconnect to PS4 when the volume is too low. The sound quality is excellent and accurate, but if you really like bass, look elsewhere. Really comfortable to wear for long hours and you'll look cooler doing it with RGB. UPDATE: It's been a year and 4 months since I bought this headset and so far so good. Longevity seems to be an issue. The headband seems to be a bit worn and unfortunately the LEDs on the left ear cup have gone out. But the sound still works great. And my ear pads haven't fallen out yet. If Asus releases and updates a version of these I'll be the first to buy them, but as they are I'll use them until they explode.
