I was looking for an easy way to hide the keyboard under the usable space and it makes it easy to tuck the keyboard under the stand, the keyboard sits on top of the legs and slides a few inches further out every page. but it doesn't bother me, it gives me desk space where the keyboard sat as well as riser space. The rear riser is slightly lower than the front, not critical but enough to be noticed. And it's enough for round objects (e.g. a battery) to roll down the risers onto your back.
