Filtration is carried out through two long water intakes (photo 1), on which two sponges are put on (photo 2, 3). The filter is designed for mechanical filtration. At the same time, sponges have very large pores that are able to filter out particles with a size of about 1.5 mm. Smaller debris passes freely through the sponges. But that's not all. The design feature of the container leads to the fact that filtration does not occur with the entire surface of the sponges, but only with their upper part about 2 cm wide. This can be easily seen by wrapping the sponges with a thin layer of padding polyester. In photo 7, the area of \u200b\u200bthe padding polyester is clearly visible, through which, in fact, filtration occurs.
