Great harness but flaws

I bought this harness because I found it best for firefighting, search and rescue and ham radio - it's acceptable but definitely not ideal for all of those uses. Here are my first impressions: This is a quality product that can be adapted to fit any size radio up to the Bendix King. The light on the front is also nice and bright for its size, and the center pocket can hold compact trauma shears, gloves, and/or a slightly larger than iPhone battery. It's also probably the best hanger on the market for storing small ham radios like my Wouxun KG-UV6 along with a commercial radio on the other side. 7-8", you need to catch the antenna with the supplied or homemade "keeper" straps (elastic bands on the shoulder straps) so that it doesn't catch your eye when you turn around or look down. Doesn't work well with a 15" hard base antenna on my ham radio so I had to make the straps bigger. I don't use antenna holders with my Motorola and Vertex fire radios (7" antennas) and have had no problems. The other and biggest downside for me is the shoulder straps. Properly adjusted, the adjustment buckle sits near the top of my shoulders, so it does literally hurts to carry them with a backpack (although it is possible with the adjustment/extra padding) If you weren't carrying a backpack it wouldn't be an issue and it's probably unique for one of my very small statures. Also, the waist strap is elastic, so if you don't want the strap to 'connect' with your back and your head, you need it to be enough very tight when packing two large radios and an extra battery. So overall, this is a quality product that does come with a few downsides depending on what you're going to use it for.
