Like many things these days, my family and I have multiple devices that need to be charged on the go. This includes phones and tablets whose batteries may not have as good a charge as when they were new. My iPhone 6 used to work all day but now I have to keep turning it on to charge as it drains very quickly. When I'm on the go, I usually have at least one of our devices connected. Introducing the RapidX X2 super compact dual USB car charger. First, I really like the purple and white color scheme. The matte rubberized case feels solid and will hopefully last a long time. It's compact and fits easily in your pocket, although I'll probably leave it in the car. I used to use the Belkin slower car charger, but I can make it my main charger. It securely snaps into older lighters and stays in place. There are no real instructions, so I had to figure out which is the "fast charge" port. It is green (QC 3.0/QualComm). The other is a standard USB 5V/2.4A max port. Both charge efficiently, but the green fast charge port is about twice as fast. I like it. There are two things I dislike and the reason the star is lost. First, the vertical design can make it difficult to connect the USB cable. On my Subaru Impreza, the cigarette lighter is installed in the storage compartment on the dashboard (photo). As I usually carry CDs or other items, cables can get in the way. It's best to connect them to the charger before plugging them into the cigarette lighter. Although it can be annoying. I'm not sure why the device couldn't be designed with the connectors facing outwards, other than to save space. Second, there's no indication that the X2 actually works. My Belkin device has a green LED that lights up when properly installed. There is no such display on X2. It's not required, but would be nice to have. I love that I can charge two devices in the car and that one port gets the job done very quickly. The RapidX X2 Super Compact Dual USB Car Charger may not be the optimal design for all vehicles, but it's still a good option. It's beautifully packaged and could be a thoughtful stocking, but full documentation would be appreciated. court
