Review on Ateco 615 Revolving Decorating Turntable by Puggzy Wallin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Impressed by a very picky husband

My hard to surprise husband was impressed. First he turned the turntable. It turned smoothly, no sound, no hesitation, and he said it was way better than I expected. Then he took out a ruler, put the end of the ruler on the counter, set it upright and spun the turntable for about a minute to see if the turntable was level. It was. The next day he started using it on our daughter's heavy wedding cake. This turntable has exceeded our expectations and has continued to perform well even under heavy use. Still no play, smooth and noiseless rotation. Even with such a heavy cake, the turntable stayed in one place without detaching from the edge of the countertop, which is important in a very small kitchen. Some reviews mentioned that the platter was rough on the underside and could even cut your fingers with rough handling. We researched this possible issue before we started using it and could see what others were talking about, but perhaps ours was handled better because we didn't find it that sharp, and after three days of constant use it's never been an issue us. . We tried the basic Wilton turntable and their Tilt-n-Turn Ultra (which was more expensive than this Ateco 613), both wobbled, didn't sit flat and were very loud. If there's one thing that could be improved, I think we've been able to use the brake a couple of times. I had to keep the record player still while my husband decorated. Overall this stand is great value for money and I would buy it again and would definitely recommend it to anyone serious about cake decorating who wants superior performance from a top quality product.

Pros
  • The round turntable is 12 inches in diameter and 4 inches in height; The base has a non-slip silicone cap to prevent unwanted sliding on the countertop.
Cons
  • Expensive
