Update: It took about 1 month for my 45lb Belgian Malanoise to break the top in half. In Sand. I can't imagine someone with a bigger dog using it to protect their dog and their furry friend running away. I will buy another item as I don't trust it for my other larger dog. I am very ambivalent about this topic. I have a 55lb lab and it worked. However, I also have a 45lb Belgian Malanois and she's good at running and causing trouble, she's pulled this object out of the ground three times and bent over. So if you have a normal dog with normal behavior this is ideal however for those who have dogs that are prone to anxiety. I would look elsewhere.
