I would say the belt looks just as good as the photos. The product description states that it is 100% genuine leather and it certainly looks like the real thing. The strap engages smoothly, as does the release button. The size fits, so this shouldn't be a problem for most people. It's easy to cut. I used a plastic strip remover (you can also use a screwdriver) to pry the tab on the back of the buckle. Then the belt slips out. I cut off the end of the belt using a utility knife with a straight metal edge as a guide. I made sure to leave extra space in case I grow in my belly. Reinsert the strap and press the tab to secure it. The ratchet system ensures a perfect fit. The perfect fit is a big advantage of these straps compared to conventional buckles. I am very happy with this belt.
